Slamet Man are an original 6 piece band from Indonesia’s ‘barometer of live music’, Yogyakarta. After forming in 2005, we have made our name well known with our original mix of rap, rock and traditional Javanese Gamelan music, and have played as a headline act at many festivals and concerts throughout Indonesia. The name ‘Slamet Man’ means ‘safe person’, and we strive for a smooth and successful musical journey. We hope to share our culture and energy, wherever our music takes us.

Slamet Man’s performances are an engaging and exciting mix of modern musical styles and traditional Javanese Culture. We combine meaningful and accessible lyrics with energetic and powerful music; electric guitars and with traditional Javanese Gamelan instruments. Our music is listened to and enjoyed by a wide range of people in Indonesia and beyond, and our first album saw us collaborate with the popular Javanese traditional vocalist ‘Anik Sunyahni’ and Wayang puppet master ‘Ki Heru Alit’ in our successful single ‘Jogja Undercover’.
